Cross Country

1, 2, 3 hit it,  boom shakalakalaka boom boom boom. The Intermediate girls took their position and as Mrs Siasau counted down from 3 my heart was thumping, my hands were shaking, sweat was dripping down from my forehead. I didn't want to run but I had to. I took a deep breath and that's when I got settled. I took my mind of everything and I tried to focus but all I could hear was the sound of poor old Miss Mules. Intermediate girls had to do 4 whole laps around the school. As Mrs Siasau yelled "GO" we all ran of with pride and laziness. As we got up to our last lap I raced up to the top hill and heard a loud voice saying " Here we have our 1st Place with yellow ribbon in her hair from Mary Mckillop" I ran to the finish line and ended up 1st place with pride and tiredness. We all cheered every runner on and supported everyone through the whole way. It was an amazing experience and we all represented our whanau houses wonderfully. We had some ups and downs with the weather but it all turned out as we planned it to.

Easter Liturgy Recount

As my hands shiver, my heart starts pounding as fast as a leopard. The butterflies in my tummy made me sweat like a pig. The curtains opened and I took a deep breath. As three disciples walk along the stage with Jesus by their side they come to a place called Gethsemane. We stayed at Gethsemane for hours.

While Jesus prayed the three disciples’ eyes were very heavy. Jesus was very disappointed. He yelled at the disciples but the disciples couldn’t stay awake. Jesus prayed 3 times and knowing that the time had come for his death he left. He woke up the three disciples(Sila, Piuela and Taupiri) and said they are near. The disciples were very sleepy.

We left Gethsemane but looking back there came a man with two guards. Jesus knew what he was going to do. It was Judas the betrayer. The two guards came and arrested Jesus and took him away. While the scene was nearly over the butterflies in my tummy flew far far away from me. The disciples were shocked and didn’t know what to do. They tried to grab Jesus but the two guards pushed us away. The scene was over and the curtains closed as smooth as a smoothie.
